The organization of parallel deliveries took some time, but such schemes cannot be compared with direct ones in terms of volumes, the expert noted in a conversation with RSpectr. At the same time, Russian manufacturers were unable to meet demand due to record short deadlines.



These factors, combined with the tasks of digitalization of the economy and the public sector, have caused a certain gap between supply and demand, that is, led to a shortage of equipment and an increase in prices for it.

And according to Maxim Tereshchenko, head of the project management department at Delta Computers, there are currently no difficulties with purchasing storage systems and servers; there are many products from domestic manufacturers on the market.

There are also foreign devices, the supply of which to the country is carried out using parallel imports, he told RSpectr. And since there are no problems with the supply of equipment yet, companies are not trying to stock up on it for a long time ahead, believes Maxim Tereshchenko.

THAT'S WHERE WE STAND

Andrey Krekhov, Director of Special Programs at ICL Services, sees the situation less rosy. By the end of 2022, even government agencies had reduced their purchases of servers and storage systems several times over, he told RSpectr. In addition, during the year, there was a precipitous decline in the supply of foreign systems and a transition to parallel imports, where prices sometimes "fly into space."

Business is still not ready to switch to equipment from Russian or little-known Chinese manufacturers

- Government and commercial consumers continue to impose strict technical specification requirements on well-known equipment vendors that have left the Russian Federation. The requirement for post-payment for equipment also runs counter to the supplier's terms of making a 100% prepayment.

According to him, all this together led to a decrease in the volume of purchases in many industries, since the parallel import mechanism only allowed for the urgent patching of holes in the infrastructure.

According to Alexander Sysoev, head of the infrastructure solutions department at the IT company CROC, the number of storage systems sold in units decreased due to the geopolitical situation, sanctions, and problems with logistics. In addition, the investment policy of many customers changed: part of the funds in the first half of the year were redistributed from the modernization of IT infrastructures to other projects, he explained to RSpectr.

At the same time, in the second half of the year, requests for new IT solutions grew. By this time, the market had already managed to restore channels for their satisfaction, noted Alexander Sysoev.
